Error: Upload has been blocked due to rate limiting

Hello everyone,

I have been getting this error for the last month or so, I don’t even edit that often, but when I try to do any edit at anytime it gives me this error, It let me upload four times this far in a span of 10 days, but it didn’t happen again yet, I don’t know what is the problem, I tried on a different network same issue, tired using the ID instead of JOSM,also the same, Am I being limited by a mod for something I did that I’m not aware of ? or is this some kind of glitch, I haven’t got any email of anything that was done to my account , any ideas?

edit: I forgot to mention that I am not a new user. been editing for more than a year

relatively new accounts have small rate limit, which grows as user edits

it was added to limit mass-vandalism

it does not mean you done anything wrong

these should not change anything

I forgot to mention this sorry, I am not a new user, been mapping for more than a year.

Do you use some kind of VPN or a service like tor?

no, I don’t.

@desertivy You seem to have been blocked until you read this: desertivy blocked by SomeoneElse | OpenStreetMap

Yes - both this user and another have been involved in “tit for tat edit wars” over a number of objects. Both have both been involved with OpenStreetMap for long enough that they should know that this is not an appropriate way to behave. A failure to heed that warning by either party will result in a longer block.

If I believe the other party is vandalizing and trying to reason with them isn’t working, and the moderators aren’t helping, what else is left? I’d love to find a more ‘appropriate way to behave,’ but unfortunately, I don’t think there is one. Since the OSM Iraq community is very small, there doesn’t seem to be any way around.

And also may I ask were the rate limiting thing realated to this issue? because I’ve been trying to add street numbers and I get faced with this error everytime.

describe conflict on forum, maybe ask for help how to write clear mail to DWG?
