Editing with low zoom

I am trying to input commercial flights onto OSM, just to see if I can get a few up before looking at getting permission to put whole networks up. I tried inputting a flight in potlatch but operating at the minimum zoom is impractical. Is their a practical way to do this?

OSM won’t handle this in a nice way. You can use JOSM it will allow you to edit stuff without downloading the data.
