I would like to add house numbers to open street map in Israel.
How do I do that?
Must I do it manually or can I do it somehow automatically with my phone?

I don’t recall that anyone has created an app to simplify house number entries - the closest thing might be the Mapzen POI collector - http://mapzen.cloudmade.com/mapzen-poi-collector , but I don’t know if it has a predefined template for house numbers.
If you collect data, manual data entry can be simplified by using the Karlsruhe schema http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/House_numbers/Karlsruhe_Schema
There is a JOSM plugin (AddrInterpolation) to minimize redundant data entries and perform error checking, but it’s still somewhat laborious.
