[Edit: Specified ‘OsmAnd’ in title] I would love to have a feature implemented that allows me to check which sections of a planned route are shaded as a function of date & time. It could look similar to what the ShadeMap project delivers (map view & trail shadow view). A possible alternative could involve dynamic track colours (indicating degrees of shade/sun) and a slider to set the time of the day.
I am aware of last year’s discussion on Shade-optimized routing paths. However, as far as I understood, it doesn’t propose dynamic rendering.
My sincere apologies in case I missed a similar discussion here or elsewhere.
Also, I am talking from the point of view of (mainly) an OSMAnd~ user, and if the post is ill placed here, I’m also sorry.
how it would differ from https://shademap.app which seems to be powered by OSM data already?
I meant to suggest to integrate shademap funtionality into OSMAnd~ (as an extension?). My usecase is offline hiking/mountaineering.
oh, I was guessing it was about request to have it on osm.org
to request changes in OsmAnd you should contact company making it, there should be info how to do it in OsmAnd documentation (and please, edit title of this thread to make it more clear in which software you propose changes)
