The OpenStreetMap Foundation is holding elections for 3 seats on the Board of Directors in December. Deadline to nominate yourself is 7th Nov. That’s just a little over 50 hours away!
Dorothea already mentioned it, but I felt a reminder was in order: We only have 3 candidates so far. We’d like to see more – I’m standing for re-election myself, but it would be good to have some competition for the seats. 
You don’t need to have a manifesto ready at this point. All you need to do for now is to declare your intention to be a candidate by adding yourself to the table on the wiki.
