Distance between points - is it uniform?

Hi there,
Do you the points in Open Street map have a specified distance between each point? I know it is open source, but I am hoping (for ease of development) there is some standardisation between points.

Short answer - no.

On some very straight lines people have used a long distance between points (“nodes”) and around curves some people use a lot, some fewer. Probably the easiest way to see what’s there is to start editing the data. If you want somewhere where you can test edits without affecting the shared live data, you could perhaps try the “dev” server http://api06.dev.openstreetmap.org .
