OLA has disrupted a major stretch of road in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh. These edits are not in sync with ground reality and even basic logic. I’ve commented on their changeset one week ago with no response till date. I’m requesting OLA’s mapping team to respond publicly in this forum and justify how and why these edits were made. This behaviour has downplayed community mapping efforts, undoing public transport and other routing relations.
This is how most of the BRTS roads function in Vizag. A bus lane in the middle and one ways on both sides of it. The bus lane is not strictly enforced and sometimes public traffic goes through, but it is still legally a bus lane, and doesn’t change the fact that there are 3 roads.
- OLA mappers seem to see four roads here. Two for bus lanes which are one ways and bidirectional roads on both sides! link to this stretch
- Here there is no bus lane at all, totally deleted. And they added a random service road.
