Destroyed settlement + landuse=residential

Hi everyone,
my question is in the title: Do you think it is appropriate to use landuse=residential for destroyed settlements? I paste a picture of my case.

No, not when it’s the site of historical ruins!

Area should possibly be tagged as archeological if it’s “important”?

I don’t know if you could call it “important.” As follows, the settlement was likely inhabited because marked as such on 1990 soviet military maps.

I’ll simply leave it without an area and map forests around so it’s not “lost” in the middle of nowhere…

You could use landuse=brownfield for the previously built-up areas and building=ruins for the remains of any buildings.

If the buildings have been destroyed down to ground level, you could use destroyed:building=house or even man_made=foundation

landuse= is for the current land use, so landuse=residential is not fitting here
