Delete Discontinued Bus Route

Hi,

I’m trying to remove Pace bus route 926 from OSM that no longer exists. It let’s me delete the route and save my work in ID but it won’t disappear from the map afterwards and all my attempted changesets related to the subject have disappeared. Can you please let me know what’s going on? I want to do things the right way. Thanks.

from Relation History: ‪Bus 926: YWCA => Gurnee Mills Mall‬ (‪15614423‬) | OpenStreetMap it looks like you removed a single element from relation

you need to remove all of them (and then browser editor - called iD - will delete now relation)

And JOSM editor is more complex but handling relations is easier there (though you need there to explicitly delete relation)

the same for Relation History: ‪Bus 926: Gurnee Mills Mall => YWCA‬ (‪15614424‬) | OpenStreetMap where you removed single element from relation

once both sub-relations are gone then main relation will be deleted (if edit was made in iD) or you will need to delete it (if edit was made in JOSM)

If all you’re doing is deleting a single relation where all elements are expected to be objects that are map-able in their own right then level0 might actually be able to do the job, as long as you’re sure you don’t have any typos.

Although I’d probably stick to JOSM.
