Curated Lists Repository

Hello all. Does anyone know if there is a site/resource that hosts curated lists? I was in the process of creating my own personal list of National Trust sites in the UK using my CoMaps mobile phone app and with around 500 locations I thought I’d better check that this list hasn’t already been compiled and made public for others to download. National Trust appear to use Google Maps unfortunately but from there I can get the co-ordinates to enter into OSM on my desktop and CoMaps on my phone. If one doesnt exist, I will continue to build my own list of course. Thanks all!

The National trust is currently going through a process of mapping all of their parks in OSM. See this wiki page or this presentation for more information.

None of that answers your question, but if they’re actively improving the trails in their parks the parks themselves are probably quite well mapped and may be something that can be extracted with an Overpass query.

Thank you for your reply! Great find! I’ll watch the video later when I get time. It’s great to see them looking into mapping their sites but I should have been a little clearer in my question, apologies! I meant I was looking into creating location points for all of their sites and entering them into a list, so that if you wanted to visit any of their sites you could just select one of their locations from the list and get directions straight to their car park from wherever you are. Thanks again for your reply, appreciated!

uMap is a good option for curating a list of locations atop an OpenStreetMap basemap. You can export the list as a GPX file, which some OSM-powered navigation applications can take as input.

National Trust publish open data sets about their sites under a CC BY 4.0 License at https://open-data-national-trust.hub.arcgis.com/

Although CC-BY 4.0 is probably not compatible with OSM, that’s unlikely to be an obstacle for personal use.
