Could the Open Source Waze Client be used with OSM Data?

Hi, all.

Whilst searching, I came across a cross-platform sat nav application, called Waze [0]. As you may know, Waze uses ‘cloud-sourced’ information from other road users, to calculate the best route for you to take. The downside of this is that Waze uses what appears to be a closed-source map [1].

Does anybody know whether any thought has been given to using the open source client with OSM data, therefore giving a completely open-source solution?
