I recently tagged an uyghur restaurant in my city:
I used cuisine=uyghur
. Using taginfo, I found that many other writings of this type of cuisine are in use, including:
uighur
uigur
uygur
Uyghur
(capitalized)uyghur_cuisine
uyghur/asian
Wikipedia uses the roman writing with “y” instead of “i”: Uyghur cuisine - Wikipedia
So my questions are:
- Is it OK to just change the tag values of other nodes to my - seemingly more common - writing?
- Does the forward-slash in
uyghur/asian
have special meaning? Should this not beuyghur;asian
? - Is capitalization revelant? It seems like the convention is lowercase.
- Key:cuisine - OpenStreetMap Wiki contains a table of “commonly used values”. Should I add
uyghur
there? Or is it not “common” enough? Over all forms of writings, there are at least 44 instance, though probably not much more.
Thanks for any help! (This is my first question. Hope I didn’t miss anything)
