`contact:twitter=asda`

Long long ago I added a whole bunch of contact:twitter=asda and contact:facebook=https://www.facebook.com/asda/.

I was told to stop part way through because it should be POI specific, not generic. I stopped, but it was never cleaned up.

I’d like to move these to brand:twitter and brand:facebook. Any thoughts?

sounds good to me :+1: i can’t imagine anyone opposing a mechanical edit here (make sure to exclude the head office though!)

Personally I have been disagreeing with using brand:*= directly. The purpose of contact:*= is to group all apps with the same use together. This means applications can’t know whether a new brand:*= is a method of communication. Format-wise, brand:twitter= means twitter= of the brand= , which isn’t consistent with the adoption of contact:twitter= over twitter= .
brand:website= , brand:phone= , etc are straightforward, as they are website= and phone= of the brand= . But I didn’t see the applicability of contact:*= discussed for brand:*= . Both brand:facebook= and brand:twitter= were mostly mass-added.
