I thought I’d do something quite simple: Update a previous import of Norwegian EV charging points with new data
I started with fast chargers in the nobil dataset that did not have a match in OSM (no match on ref:nobil identifier), however I knew that OSM could still have them manually mapped, and would have the best location data. The nobil.no database would have the best current POI information
I’d heard of JOSM having a conflation-plugin, so gave that a go, but after some fiddling and figuring out the process I have two issues in the workflow:
-
How do you keep the OSM location, but add the new data? I think I tried flipping “reference” and “subject”, but don’t remember how that worked out
-
In the conflict merge window you can’t see which conflicting data belongs to which dataset?
Am I missing something? Do I need further plugins? The second issue with the conflict merge window was quite baffling to me, and I’ve had to manually cross-reference the raw .osm xml file
