Closing an airport

I found a small airport (with runways and taxiways) and confirmed that it is closed. What’s a good procedure to retire it?

For now, I moved airport to historic=airport, and ways to highway=abandoned (with name=runway, etc).
This is helpful is someone wanted to restore it, but not if searching for interesting historical places.

Is there a standing recommendation for this (like delete everything)?

Is airport inactive, with infrastructure present or is it completely gone with no trace left? What is its official status?

Mateusz, this looks like a rural airport, grass runways are visible, no other infrastructure is present.
