Hello, I’m the editor of mapy.com, we received information from our users that Shell gas stations in Scandinavia have been renamed to ST1. We would like to ask for your cooperation in updating the gas stations so that they do not have outdated information. Thanks, have a nice day #mapycom
I tried that a few years ago when all Statoil was changed to Circle K here in Sweden. I met nothing but resistance and reverted my changes.
Apparently, it was better to keep the old outdated operator and let them be updated ad hoc when someone stumbled upon them, than to change them all at once and be done with it.
I gave up and focused my energy on something else

Jeg plasserer noden midt over bensinpumpene, slik at routing for biler blir best mulig (ikke over butikken).

If all Shell gas stations has been renamed to ST1, there is nothing prohibiting you from changing this in OSM. Please read the guidelines first to make sure it’s done correctly. As to the technical solution to change all Shell gas stations, I don’t know how since I’ve never done that type of work.

I think, as it is obvious that all Shell-Stations are renamed (They were run bei ST1 under that name for a while) they can just be renamed.
I just ran a short overpass query amenitiy=fuel and brand=Shell, happened to get some in Danmark as well, but it seems there are about 100-150 left in Sweden.
This feels like an amount that could be renamed manually - maybe take it as an chance to check on ST1s website if the station still exists and update it with more information if necessary.
I do not have the time to do it in the next few weeks (away for holidays) but might do it when I am back.
