Did you see this : “The methodology for establishing straight baselines shall be determined in a separate agreement among all the Parties.”
To me it sounds that they agree to the way to go, but as long as the (unnamed) agreement is not published, the old limits prevail. Does such an agreement exist? Is it in force? Or can we use the old baselines (used on the nautical maps mentioned in the convention) and update the width to 15 NM?
As said, VLIZ maintains the baselines (not sure if VLIZ made them public), if they make it public, we can do the GIS work to update the boundaries, otherwise, best is perhaps do add information to the existing ticket.
I’ve gone down a bit of rabbit hole on the subject and my conclusion is that is beyond my foo to fix it. If the current boundaries were just the 12 NM boundaries from Marine Regions then I would have said let’s just buffer that by another 3 NM. However they aren’t.
