I amended the wiki on how to tag capacity in outdoor and indoor seating areas. I currently picked the most used tag, however, I think there are two valid good options, so here is a pool to see what the preference is in the active community.
capacity:out/indoor
out/door_seating:capacity

Let me know if there are any major flaws in either tag that I overlooked. IMHO both have good arguments for them, but no problems.
They aren’t the same. capacity:*door= would include standing. On the other hand, *door_seating:capacity= could be limited to eateries, following the =outdoor_seating roots.
I’d say seating is seating and we typically use “average” people as measure. That might be different in nightclubs compared to childcare POIs.
There are already subtags in use like for the number of tables outdoor_seating:tables, or the type of seating outdoor_seating:comfort=benches. And there are also tags to distinguish “types” of people like capacity:children or (not yet) capacity:adult that can be combined with these seating tags.
