Can we disable ctrl+f hijacking?

For some bad reason software used by this forum decided to break browser search - and ctrl+f is getting hijacked.

For me it is annoying, weird, unwanted and confusing.

Would it be possible to disable this?

I also wish Discourse didn’t work this way, but since it doesn’t load all posts in longer threads at once, the native browser search ends up not working as expected anyway. I wish Discourse wasn’t a JS heavy client side application resulting in annoyances like this, but given the architecture, the Discourse search feature works better than the native browser search in most situations.

I agree. The search functionality should not work differently depending on how many items are shown or are available to search.

It seems now you can use the native in-page browser search if you hit Ctrl + F twice
