Can I use self-created markers on the maps?

Hello,
I work in the scientific field and I am interested in using special markers on the maps. I made these markers but I try to add them to the map, and it hasn’t worked for me.

I put them in:

./wp-content/plugins/osm/icons/

Is there a special format for them?
special location in the directory structure ?

Do I understand correctly that you are asking about an OSM Wordpress Plugin? If yes, then I have to tell you this forum is not about that plugin. You should probably look at the plugin page where to find support.

This forum is for the community that is maintaining the geo database for the map.
