I work for a transit Agency and have noticed that the data for our jurisdiction is not up to date (network data looks like 2019-2021). I need to know how I can upload the entire current network (GTFS or other source), and then in the future update it as a whole whenever we do a service change. It would take too much time for me go route by route. This is for bus routes and stops also.
PTNA actually also provides a comparison between GTFS and OSM data.
To achieve this we need an analysis of the data mapped in OSM and an import and analysis of the GTFS data. Most critical is, as usual with any kind of import: the license of the data to be imported.
For which Agency are you working, which geographical area is that?
Example for a comparison: Subway ‘C’ in New York City, New York:
@toniE RTC of Southern Nevada, specifically Las Vegas. We have currently 39 routes, but 2 look to be missing in the system, and several others are not exact to their current layouts. Also unsure of who loaded the current data that is in OSM.
Thanks, would Clark County have the right size to search for and analyze the actually mapped routes in OSM? “Clark County” as starting point (area), we can shrink or extend that later on.
