Bulk Data Upload

Hi, I am looking to upload data on OSM as part of a project for the World Bank.
As part of the OSM processes of obtaining licenses, creating wiki page and identifying methodology, I am stuck with respect to a workable method for bulk importing, and want to request help to understand a methodology that can be followed for the same. My data is in the form of shapefiles. After exploring several methods on the web, in OSM forums and pages (including https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import/Software; https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Help/Action/Upload and more), I have found most methods either do not support bulk data uploads, or are degraded or are expired.

I am looking for an efficient method that will not cause many errors associated with bulk imports and enable me to upload the data from shapefiles. Any help with this is much appreciated.

Before starting any consideration of the technology, you need to read & follow the Import Guidelines. This requires good written documentation, example data and engagement with OSM contributors.

Imports have a problematic past history on OSM, and have often not reached the same standard as would have been achieved by regular mapping. In addition importers have often removed previous data which sometimes degraded the information, but is also very demotivating to regular contributors. This does not mean the imports don’t have a role, but it does mean that the OSM community like to verify that people doing imports are familiar with OSM and committed to correctly integrating imported data with what exists already.

In practice there are a wide variety of tools which can be used.
