BT telephone kiosk data inadvertently wiped by StreetComplete

crossposting an issue from the StreetComplete github for awareness "No longer exists" quest for Telephone wipes historic BT kiosk data · Issue #6776 · streetcomplete/StreetComplete · GitHub

Usually when BT decommission a phonebox, the payphone is removed, but the kiosk stays put (and is available for community adoption).

For the uninitiated, StreetComplete offers a (useful!) “Does this still exist?” quest, ensuring amenities are up to date. Today, I discovered that when you answer ‘No’ to a payphone, it doesn’t just remove the amenity=telephone tag, it deletes the node entirely.

This means conservation and heritage data such as kiosk= listed_status= etc. tags are lost.

Can someone more competent than me with Overpass advise how we might check how many surviving kiosks were inadvertently deleted by well-meaning editors in this way?

Thank you

using attic data to see old data at specific time and comparing it with current state may help

it will NOT catch ones that were both mapped and deleted after such date
