Brisbane Check in on FB

When ever any one checks in at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia it gets tagged as some actor, Naga Shaurya’s FB page and ive tried repirting it, and tried messaging them but no responses can anyone help correct this

I suspect that this is the same issue as this one.

Facebook’s data is broken. I don’t believe that they use OSM for their “places” data. You will have to contact Facebook to get it fixed, but people have found it difficult in the past to actually get through to FB (as can be seen here, since this is not a new problem).

Happy to look into this for you (I work at Meta on maps). As some others have suggested, it is likely a location within our Places database and not OSM. Can you please confirm the FB page that is causing the issue. Is it this one?

FB have claimed multiple times that their issue with Brisbane is fixed (I just closed a bunch of related issues in OTRS/Zuny).

@BNJames We checked and have not been able to replicate it or find places that might have an incorrect association between Brisbane, Australia and Vijayawada, India. Can you share any links to pages you’ve seen that are affected by this and/or screenshots with examples?

Thank you! I was able to recreate it. It looks like it’s specifically happening with the travelling to… functionality.

You can delete the screenshot as it contains personal information. We will investigate further.

This issue still isn’t resolved. This affects everyone using the travelling to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia function. Any update?

As noted above, the issue is completely unrelated to OpenStreetMap. Have you tried contacting Facebook it, as suggested above?
