Boathouse tagging that avoinds JOSM validator error?

How should I tag a boathouse other than building=boathouse ?

JOSM gives me errors in Tromso area where I’m mapping because the boathouses in the area are layed over the shoreline.

level=1 would solve the error – but that wouldn’t be right, right?

that sounds like material for Help -> Report bug in JOSM - what is unusual for other buildings is expected for building=boathouse it seems

so likely special exemption should be added in JOSM

but maybe you can link area so we can look at data there?

The boathouses that I recall are built over the water, as you say “layed over the shoreline” so the tag would be layer=1 to show the building over/on top of the water.
