Another issue is the widespread use of the name= key to add descriptions of things so they appear with text on the map. That this is not a good idea is described here. Maybe that wiki page should be translated to Turkish?
Many of these names are in English or Russian too, so they seem to be added by tourists. Things to look for include shop=convenience + name=bakkal/market/, man_made=water_well + name=sarnıç/cistern, amenity=drinking_water + name=su/water/вода, tourism=camp_site + name= 2 tents (near Likya Yolu), … The tourist=information tag is also frequently misused to provide information directly to map users instead of mapping places where tourist information is available. I came across one that had name:en=There are strong winds here! + name:ru=Тут бывают сильные ветры! + name:tr=Burada kuvvetli rüzgarlar var! + tourism=information (I deleted it of course, we don’t map the weather).
I am also wondering about road names such as name=Marmaris Datça Yolu Is that a name with official status? Isn’t it just a description of the origin and destination of the road? Surely there are many people who refer to it like that, but probably a sizeable group calls it Datça Marmaris Yolu… so it is truly a name and not a description?
