They just rebuilt a local building and it’s surrounding area in my town. And for obvious reasons, the satellite imagery hasn’t been updated yet. I would like to fly my drone at a certain height and take photos of it all and somehow overlay it on OSM/JSOM to remap said area.
What I do is to generate an orthophoto from a series of drone images using OpenDroneMap (webodm) and then this can be pulled in to JOSM from webODM and traced. I also publish the orthophotos to OpenAerialMap.
@ralley’s approach sounds like the modern thing to do, but a decade ago I used https://mapwarper.net/ to rectify individual photos and then load them into JOSM as WMS background.
