Hi everyone,
I’m helping improve the map information for a museum and wanted to ask about the best practices for contributing to OpenStreetMap.
Our goal is to make it easier for visitors to find the correct entrance, accessible entrances, parking areas, wheelchair access, restrooms, and other important visitor facilities. We also want to ensure the information stays accurate as the museum changes over time.
For those who have mapped museums or other visitor attractions, what’s the recommended approach? Do you map every entrance separately? How do you handle accessible parking, drop-off zones, bike parking, or seasonal entrances? Are there any commonly used tags or editing workflows that you recommend?
We’re also using MembershipAnywhere for digital membership card and visitor engagement, so having accurate map data is becoming more important for helping members navigate to the right entrance and improving the overall visitor experience.
