Beginner here. I would like to edit the map just for fun, without sticking to the reality and without making it public. Can I?

Hello,
Since I am a child I love geography and drawing realistic maps out of my imagination : I have always dreamt of creating a google maps-like map just out of my imagination, or to modify (non-seriously, just for the sake of fun) the map for like, changing road names or such. Is it possible for me to use iD? Or else, do you know how I could do it ? Thanks a lot !

Hello and welcome. OpenStreetMap is a map of the real world, so not the place to make fictional maps. You might be interested in the OpenGeofiction project instead.

Hi jockermonde9, welcome to the forum. As @ezekielf has already said, the right place for fictional mapping is OpenGeoficition. Anyhow if one day the fictional mapping may become boring you are highliy welcome to do some real mapping in OSM!
