Not sure where to place this, but I just tried the google maps editor for the first time and it had this lovely tiny tutorial on how to use it.
A beginner of OpenStreetMap using the iD editor can make use of the iD Editor Walkthrough.
This walkthrough is in my opinion a very friendly tutorial.
