Hi, unfortunately I could not identify such a construction or similar in OSM wiki.
What would be the most appropriate tag for the low barrier line, consisting of concrete blocks + metal poles + wooden boards?
As this is not a barrier blocking a road or track but a linear one separating 2 areas from each other I would tag this one as barrier=fence + fence_type=post_and_rail (wich is in use some 5.000 times so far), see Taginfo: fence_type=post_and_rail | Tags | OpenStreetMap Taginfo
If I was using that carpark frequently, I’d also be inclined to push them all back onto the dividing line, so I wasn’t losing 1/2m of space! ![]()
After a further “deep seek” I would tend to fence_type=knee_rail. It might fit better.
How can I tag the property that the barrier is not firmly attached to the ground, but can be moved (albeit with some effort)? Both, “removable” and “movable” are being used as keys to some extent. But I like to express the opposite: not fixed to the ground.
you could tag it
barrier=fence
height=0.5
Thanks for your contribution. Eventually I did it as
barrier=fence
fence_type=knee_rail
fence:material=concrete;metal;wood
I understand that fence_type=knee_rail stand for a low height construction.
