Hello guys, so, I have noticed that in the northeast part of my city (Florianópolis), there seems to be some 11th or 12th (if that exists) level subdivisions in it. I’m specifically talking about South Ingleses , Central Ingleses , North Ingleses , Capivari , Santinho , Muquém , North R. Vermelho , South R. Vermelho and Mozambique Beach . Something I know is that my city (excluding Tapera da Base and ex-distrito sede areas) don’t have oficial neighbourhoods/bairros, so the localities are in the map. Though, why are there Spacial Planning Units (a.k.a. UEPs) in the map? Are they important? The most i’ve seen someone mention for these specific areas is Muquém and Santinho, but never the others..
If they are needed/useful, can the other UEPs be added, with maps? I think it wouldn’t make sense to just include 9 of the 133 UEPs, so it would make at least a bit of sense to include the others. PMF (Florianópolis city hall) provides SHPs of the UEPs that can be converted to KML and made manually on OSM incase.
If they are not needed/useful, will they be removed? UEPs were used for a long time by IBGE as neighbourhoods due to a lack of localities being official neighbourhoods, as can be seen in the 2022 population census in which certain areas that are UEPs such as East Campeche or Mole Beach are mentioned as neighbourhoods, but it wouldn’t make sense to include them if they aren’t very recognised or needed, and, with only now the PMF starting to officialize other localities as neighbourhoods they won’t be much needed..
