I found an archaeological site when working on a problem. The site was added to what looks like farmland. The site even includes an embankment. Shouldn’t these belong in OpenHistoricalMap?
Certainly nothing visible in any imagery, including old British War Office maps!
The National Monuments Service mentions that a ditched enclosure was visible in Bing aerial images in 2012 - that seems to be the basis on which it is included in the current catalogue of monuments.
Edit: I tried to link directly to that object but it may not work - searching for TN019-052 should find it.
Cleearly visible with Esri World Imagery (Clarity) Beta. Well “clearly visible” is the trace, the footprint.
Now that you mention it, I can kind of see the remnants of the site.
Good spot! The double-embankment can only be seen in a low/raking sun; demonstrates why using a selection of imagery is important in many cases.
