App for OpenStreetMap

Just wondering, would it be possible to create an openstreetmap app for the iPhone? I think it would make a great idea, because we could edit and trace maps easily, while still be able to use it as a gps.

There already are a number of different OpenStreetMap apps for the iPhone. Have a look at the lists on this page: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Apple_iOS
I think most of them are just for viewing OSM based maps, but some have the option of recording tracks as well. Plus there’s a few that have (basic) map editing options.
