Apartment building entrance tagged correctly, but individual addresses not returning in search

Hi, I have an apartment building named “Garden House”.

It has been converted into 7 apartments (addressed 1-7 The Gardens, 37a South Parade, Southsea) and 1 unit (addressed The Town House, 37a South Parade, Southsea) – with separate entrances for the 7 apartments and the 1 unit.

I am quite sure I’ve tagged the entrances, on the waypoint for the house, correctly. However, when I search the address of an individual apartment e.g. “3 The Gardens, Southsea” there are no results. This is the node I believe should be indexed as searchable for the address: Node: 12152036116 | OpenStreetMap.

Can anyone help me understand what might be wrong with the tagging, or whether this is an expected limitation of the search?

Just searching “The Gardens, Southsea” gives results for both house and apartments: The Gardens, Southsea | OpenStreetMap

I see you only made changes yesterday, so they may take some time to actually register.

I’d probably give it a week or so?

The tagging looks fine to me, but Nominatim, the search software that powers the OSM website, does not support addr:flats yet, that is why it doesn’t work unless you leave off the 3 in the search. (The issue is already reported, it’s a very long standing feature request.)

Thanks Fizzie41 but I was specifically concerned with why the true address of a flat, when correctly tagged, should not appear. It does seem to be a limitation of the search engine, sadly.
