Thank you for all your answers!
My question was that because I was wondering about using building, outdoor_seating lub air_conditioning with amenity=biergarten and it looked strange to me.
I was trying to remove ‘building’ option from the preset in the iD editor:
https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/7222
It was solved partially. The ‘building’ option to check won’t be in the main editor, but as an option in “All Tags”, so hopefully there won’t be so many new biergarten buildings after this. This will be changed with the new release of iD (it is planned for today but I think it will be on Sunday or Monday).
The other problem is an option “outdoor_seating” which is still in iD.
I think this option should be removed too. What do you think?
If it’s correct to use outdoor_seating with amenity=biergarten I would like to see in the photo a biergarten with an outdoor seating and one without
So either every biergarten should have it or none. Because now it looks like a world is divided into biergartens with an outdoor seating and biergartens without an outdoor seating.
If you have anything to add to https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/7222
you can write it there or if you don’t have an account on GitHub you can write it here and I can post there or put a link to this discussion.
There was an argument that in the US biergartens may look different (in a building)… But maybe they aren’t biergartens.
I didn’t say that biergartens are only in Germany, they are in my country too, not so many, but there are such places that I can tag them as amenity=biergarden, because I understand this as an outdoor area where people can drink beer, but if someones map a feature amenity=biergarten with building, it should be a pub in a building, we have amenity=pub for it.
I agree.
I think all these problems with outdoor_seating and building come from mappers who don’t understand the idea of amenity=biergarten.
It’s like leisure=park. A park is an outdoor area by definition…
