I logged in to do some editing of the OSM and found all the building I have been adding over many years have disappeared. Can anyone suggest an explanation and how I could fix it
Could you share your account and some of the changesets affected?
I am replying to my own message. But all is OK. I bit of scrolling and my edits are slowly being rebuilt. I am happy again
Welcome to tge forum
Glad to hear your work is still there.
I scrolled your history and some randomly chosen changeset containing buildings still looks alright to me.
Happy mapping
If you say scrolling and slowly reappearing, I sounds like the cache issue a lot of beginners are struggling with.
when you visit the OSM.org website your browser won’t always download the map (which comes in different little pictures) every time but will take those images from your cache storage first.
This means you will still see the old tiles (without your buildings) for a while before the newly rendered ones appear. Also rendering takes some time depending on the zoom level but usually is rather quick.
If something doesn’t show up or only partly, try refreshing the page and cache by pressing crtl+F5 (at least on Linux and Windows). Then your browser will download the newest tiles from the sever.
