Air Conditioning

So it’s hot in Europe right now. I found the tag air_conditioning, but it only seems to allow yes and no. In Europe there are many places who cool only a few degrees, or like 6 degree difference to the outside temperature. So going from 36 to 30. How would I map these capabilities in order not to give the wrong expectations about coolness?

Further, I couldn’t find any tags for roof top air conditioning system. I would want the same as for solar panels. What is the appropriate tag here?

The tag itself is clearly gaining popularity

Walk in fridges and freezers can have very similar looking equipment so it’s a bit of a dubious thing to tag from a distance.

There is a pre-existing undocumented tag air_conditioning=limited. I think this is more or less what you’re looking for, and I see no problem with using it, but we should probably verify that before putting it on the wiki.

If you want to map tag a rooftop AC unit then that’s fine, but I don’t see much reason to link it directly to the air_conditioning tag on an amenity.

Ok looking at overpass, it’s used on several transit lines in the Philippines and France, a Walmart in Texas, and a Polish hotel. The note on the polish hotel indicates that only certain rooms are air-conditioned, and that might be what it means on the transit lines too.

Perhaps a new tag such as air_conditioning=weak?
