Admin_level=1 for relation - Relation: Kepong

I found one relation (node!?) with admin_level=1 for Relation: Kepong

// Borders, admin_level = 2 (normally countries)
// output as csv

[out:csv(admin_level, ::type, type,::id, wikidata, 'name','name:en','ISO3166-1:alpha2', border_type, official_name, description)]
[timeout:60];

relation
	["boundary"="administrative"]
	["type"="boundary"]
	["admin_level"="1"]
	["name"~".*"];

// Output current relation
out asc;

Result:

admin_level	@type	type	@id	wikidata	name	name:en	ISO3166-1:alpha2
1	relation	boundary	19141308		Kepong

Relation: Relation: ‪Kepong‬ (‪19141308‬) | OpenStreetMap

User has just one edit. I guess this is (obviously) not correct, but I feel not experienced enough to maintain admin_levels. Hope, there is someone more experienced. Thanks!

admin_level=1 is always wrong, for sure in combination with boundary=administrative, see Tag:boundary=administrative#Super-national administrations.

The relation itself is also strange, only one node as member:

name=Kepong
name:en=Kepong
name:ms=Kepong
name:ms-Arab=كڤوڠ
name:zh=甲洞
place=town
wikidata=Q6393223
wikimedia_commons=Category:Kepong
wikipedia=en:Kepong

That node is also part of the Relation: Kuala Lumpur which has (correct) admin_level=4.

So I think this relation should be renamed to Kepong with an admin_level higher than 4 and an actual boundary should be added.

just delete it. All those boundaries are not even official as far as I know.

I wrote a message to a mapper asking for checking / support. I do not want to break things.

It is a functionless relation. I have deleted the relation and left the member node untouched.

Thank you @Thorsten2219 for pointing this out.

You’re right. In the land office records, there are official boundaries for Bandar Kepong (which is in Selangor and not even Kuala Lumpur) and Pekan Kepong (which is in Kuala Lumpur). But Kepong as a suburbia extends across the official land office boundaries of Bandar Kepong, Pekan Kepong and Mukim Batu.

There is no official “Daerah Kepong” and no official boundary for Kepong as a suburbia.
