I attempted to login after some time away. The login failed. I saw the Wikipedia login so I used that. It said my account was suspended for suspicious activity, contact support. I attempted to email support and my email bounced with a note about being identified as spam. This is strange as I have a fully configured private domain through Proton, so there is no question of spam. All this is quite odd, so I created a separate account using a Proton email alias to write this note here. Can someone help me sort this out? If someone has cracked my account at OSM and behaved badly, I need to sort that out immediately. The email address is david at wrightgibson.es.
If you are not a member of DWG then it is best to not create accounts with DWG prefix. See Data Working Group - OpenStreetMap Wiki
If you expect help with account, please specify its name - best linking to its edit page/user page or one of past edits.
I added my email above, but I do not understand how to change my profile alias here. It does not seem to be an option. I changed it on the main account at OSM, but this is ideally only a temporary account in any case.
https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/David%20Wright%20Gibson/history shows “Sorry, there is no user with the name David Wright Gibson”
have you got any edits or other content worth rescuing there? Maybe easiest thing to do would be create a new account
sadly, Proton users also may send spam
Please contact support@openstreetmap.org for assistance, being sure to mail from the address that you need help with.
though if
is accurate then their email/account is effectively unusuable, with no way to restore it, right?
