Hi OSM community.
I want to share an early MVP called www.locationvault.com and get some honest feedback.
Location Vault isn’t an OSM map or viewer — it’s a location discovery and research tool. You type a natural-language query (e.g. all water towers in a city), and it searches OpenStreetMap, Google Places and Wikipedia/Wikidata in one go, then merges and deduplicates the results.
Why OSM matters here: it often contains places that Google doesn’t know or doesn’t rank highly. The tool always shows where each piece of data came from, so users can see when OSM, Wikipedia and Google agree — or don’t.
The MVP already shows coordinates, photos (if available), websites, and sources, all on one map. It’s intentionally slower but deeper than normal search.
If you’re curious, please try it and tell me what’s wrong, missing, or misleading. Critical feedback very welcome.
